The helps for RPCs gettransaction, listtransactions, and
listsinceblock returned by TransactionDescriptionString()
state that the "trusted" boolean field is only present if the
transaction is trusted and safe to spend from.
The "trusted" boolean field is in fact returned by
WalletTxToJSON() when the transaction has 0 confirmations,
or negative confirmations, if conflicted, and it can be
true or false.
This commit updates TransactionDescriptionString() to a
more accurate description for "trusted" and updates the
existing line of test coverage to fail more helpfully.

The function ComputeTimeSmart in wallet.cpp assume that transaction are discovered in the right order.
Moreover the 'smarttime' determination algorithm is coded with realtime scenario in mind and not rescanning of old block.
The functional test demonstrate that if the user import a wallet, then rescan only recent history, and then rescan the entire history, the older transaction discovered would have an incorrect time determination.
In the context of rescanning old block, the only time value that as a meaning is the blocktime.
That's why I've fixed the problem with a simple separation between rescanning of old block and realtime time determination. The fix is written to have no impact on every realtime scenario and only impact the behaviour during a rescanning process.
This PR Fixes#20181.
To be fair, I don't think that this bug could be triggered with the wallet GUI, because it always proceed with a proper rescan.
But RPC API provide the possibility to trigger it. I've discovered it, because Specter desktop v0.10.0 was impacted. (https://github.com/cryptoadvance/specter-desktop/issues/680).

These are:

Even though these are obvious by the definition of waste metric, adding tests for them can be helpful in explaining its behavior
to new readers of the code base, along with pinning the behavior for future.
This PR adds those two cases to waste calculation unit test.

With this change, we get more fine-grained error messages if something
goes wrong in the course of communicating with the SQLite database. To
pick some random examples, the error codes SQLITE_IOERR_NOMEM,
SQLITE_IOERR_CORRUPTFS or SQLITE_IOERR_FSYNC are way more specific than just a
plain SQLITE_IOERR, and the corresponding error messages generated by
sqlite3_errstr() will hence give a better hint to the user (or also to the
developers, if an error report is sent) what the cause for a failure is.

Try to find a solution with SelectCoinsSRD. If we do have one, add it to
the list of solutions from which we choose the one with the least waste
as the solution to use.
Followup to commit "MOVEONLY: CWallet transaction code out of
wallet.cpp/.h" that detaches and renames some CWalletTx methods, making
into them into standalone functions or CWallet methods instead.
There are no changes in behavior and no code changes that aren't purely
mechanical. It just gives spend and receive functions more consistent
names and removes the circular dependencies added by the earlier
MOVEONLY commit.
There are also no comment or documentation changes. Removed comments
from transaction.h are just migrated to spend.h, receive.h, and
wallet.h.

Branch and Bound introduced a metric that we call waste. This metric is used as part of bounding the search tree, but it can be generalized to all coin selection solutions, including those with change. As such, this PR introduces the waste metric at a higher level so that we can run both of our coin selection algorithms (BnB and KnapsackSolver) and choose the one which has the least waste. In the event that both find a solution with the same change, we choose the one that spends more inputs.
Also this PR sets the long term feerate to 10 sat/vb rather than using the 1008 block estimate. This allows the long term feerate to be the feerate that we switch between consolidating and optimizing for fees. This also removes a bug where the long term feerate would incorrectly be set to the fallback fee. While this doesn't matter prior to this PR, it does have an effect following this. The long term feerate can be configured by the user through a new `-consolidatefeerate` option.

In order to change the KnapsackSolver tests to call KnapsackSolver, we
need KnapsackGroupOutputs to create the OutputGroups filtered with the
filter criteria.
The long term feerate is really the highest feerate that the user is
comfortable with making consolidatory transactions. This is should thus
be something that can be configured by the user via a new startup option
-consolidatefeerate. The default value is 10 sat/vbyte, chosen
arbitrarily (it seems like a reasonable number).

When the fee is not subtracted from the outputs, the amount that has
been reserved for the fee (change_and_fee - change_amount) must be
enough to cover the fee that is needed. It would be a bug to not do so,
so use an assert to make this obvious if such a situation were to occur.
For target value calculations, GetSelectionAmount should be used, not
m_effective_value or m_value.
Specifically, ApproximateBestSubset mistakenly uses m_value when
calculating whether the target value has been met. This has been changed
to use GetSelectionAmount.

DEBUG_LOCKORDER expects cs_wallet, cs_main, and cs_KeyStore to be
acquired in that order. However dumpwallet would take these in the order
cs_wallet, cs_KeyStore, cs_main. So when configured with
`--enable-debug`, it is possible to hit the lock order assertion when
using dumpwallet.
To fix this, cs_wallet and cs_KeyStore are no longer locked at the same
time. Instead cs_wallet will be locked first. Then the functions which
lock cs_main will be run. Lastly cs_KeyStore will be locked afterwards.
This avoids the lock order issue.
Furthermore, since GetKeyBirthTimes (only used by dumpwallet) also uses
a function that locks cs_main, and itself also locks cs_KeyStore, the
same reordering is done here.
If a ScriptPubKeyMan does not implement Upgrade, then using upgraewallet
will fail unexpectedly. By changing the default to return true, then
this error can be avoided. This is still correct because a successful
upgrade can be that nothing happened.

Rationale: allow updating existing descriptors with `importdescriptors` command.
Currently if you run same `importdescriptors` command twice with a descriptor containing private key you will get very confusing error — `Missing required fields`. What happens is that Wallet tries to write imported private key to the disk, but it exists already so we get `DB_KEYEXIST (-30995)` from BerkelyDB. Please note, that we set `DB_NOOVERWRITE` (I guess not to lose some keys accidentally). The exception is caught in `catch (...)` in rpcdump.cpp with a generic error.
With this PR if a descriptor is already present than we will update its activeness, internalness, label, range and next_index.
For the range only expansion is allowed (range start can only decrease, range end increase).

Currently fetching a normalized descriptor requires the wallet to be unlocked as it needs the private keys to derive the last hardened xpub. This is not very user friendly as normalized descriptors shouldn't require and don't involve the private keys except for derivation. We solve this problem by caching the last hardened xpub (which has to be derived at some point when generating the address pool).
However the last hardened xpub was not already being cached. We only cached the immediate parent xpub and derived child keys. For example, with a descriptor derivation path of `/84'/0'/0'/0/*`, the parent xpub that is cached is `m/84'/0'/0'/0`, and the child keys of `m/84'/0'/0'/0/i` (note that child keys would not be cached in this case). This parent xpub is not suitable for the normalized descriptor form as we want the key at `m/84'/0'/0'`. So this PR adds another field to `DescriptorCache` to cache the last hardened xpub so that we can use them for normalized descriptors.
Since `DescriptorCache` is changing, existing descriptor wallets need to be upgraded to use this new cache. The upgrade will occur in the background either at loading time (if the wallet is not encrypted) or at unlocking time in the same manner that `UpgradeKeyMetadata` operates. It will use a new wallet flag `WALLET_FLAG_LAST_HARDENED_XPUB_CACHED` to indicate whether the descriptor wallet has the last hardened xpub cache.
Lastly `listdescriptors` will not require the wallet to be locked and `getaddressinfo`'s `parent_desc` will always be output (assuming the upgrade has occurred).

Currently bech32m addresses are classfied as bech32. Because bech32m is incompatible with bech32, we need to define a new `OutputType` for it so that it can be handled correctly. This PR adds `OutputType::BECH32M`, updates all of the relevant `OutputType` classifications, and handle requests for bech32m addresses. There is now a `bech32m` address type string that can be used.
* `tr()` descriptors now report their output type as `OutputType::BECH32M`. `WtinessV1Taproot` and `WitnessUnknown` are also classified as `OutputType::BECH32M`.
* Bech32m addresses are completely disabled for legacy wallets. They cannot be imported (explicitly disallowed in `importaddress` and `importmulti`), will not be created when getting all destinations for a pubkey, and will not be added with `addmultisigaddress`. Additional protections have been added to `LegacyScriptPubKeyMan` to disallow attempting to retrieve bech32m addresses.
* Since Taproot multisigs are not implemented yet, `createmultisig` will also disallow the bech32m address type.
* As Taproot is not yet active, `DescriptorScriptPubKeyMan` cannot and will not create a `tr()` descriptor. Protections have been added to make sure this cannot occur.
* The change address type detection algorithm has been updated to return `bech32m` when there is a segwit v1+ output script and the wallet has a bech32m `ScriptPubKeyMan`, falling back to bech32 if one is not available.

Adds an error output parameter to all GetReservedDestination functions
so that callers can get the actual reason that a change address could
not be fetched. This more closely matches GetNewDestination. This allows
for more granular error messages, such as one that indicates that
bech32m addresses cannot be generated yet.
We don't want the legacy wallet to ever have bech32m addresses so don't
allow importing them. This includes addmultisigaddress as that is a
legacy wallet only RPC
Additionally, bech32m multisigs are not available yet, so disallow them
in createmultisig.
If a transaction as a segwit output, use a bech32m change address if
they are available. If not, fallback to bech32. If bech32 change
addresses are unavailable, fallback to the default address type.
Bech32m addresses need their own OutputType
We are not ready to create DescriptorScriptPubKeyMans which produce
bech32m addresses. So don't allow generating them.

The UX isn't amazing - especially the blocking calls - but it works.
First we adds a GUI setting for the signer script (e.g. path to HWI):

It's checked by default if HWI detects a device. It also grabs the name. It then creates a fresh wallet and imports the keys.

This is a subset of #21365, to aide review.
This adds support `tr(KEY)` or `tr(KEY,SCRIPT)` or `tr(KEY,{{S1,{{S2,S3},...}},...})` descriptors, describing Taproot outputs with specified internal key, and optionally any number of scripts, in nested groups of 2 inside `{`/`}` if there are more than one. While it permits importing `tr(KEY)`, anything beyond that is just laying foundations for more features later.
Missing:
* Signing support (see #21365)
* Support for more interesting scripts inside the tree (only `pk(KEY)` is supported for now). In particular, a multisig policy based on the new `OP_CHECKSIGADD` opcode would be very useful.
* Inferring `tr()` descriptors from outputs (given sufficient information).
* `getaddressinfo` support.
* MuSig support. Standardizing that is still an ongoing effort, and is generally kind of useless without corresponding PSBT support.
* Convenient ways of constructing descriptors without spendable internal key (especially ones that arent't trivially recognizable as such).

This moves wallet classes and methods that deal with transactions out of `wallet.cpp/.h` into better organized files:
- `transaction.cpp/.h` - CWalletTx and CMerkleTx class definitions
- `receive.cpp/.h` - functions checking received transactions and computing balances
- `spend.cpp/.h` - functions creating transactions and finding spendable coins
After #20773, when loading is separated from syncing it will also be possible to move more `wallet.cpp/.h` functions to:
- `sync.cpp/.h` - functions handling chain notifications and rescanning
This commit arranges `receive.cpp` and `spend.cpp` functions in dependency order so it's possible to skim `receive.cpp` and get an idea of how computing balances works, and skim `spend.cpp` and get an idea of how transactions are created, without having to jump all over `wallet.cpp` where functions are not in order and there is a lot of unrelated code.
Followup commit "refactor: Detach wallet transaction methods" in https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/pull/21206 follows up this PR and tweaks function names and arguments to reflect new locations. The two commits are split into separate PRs because this commit is more work to maintain and less work to review, while the other commit is less work to maintain and more work to review, so hopefully this commit can be merged earlier.

This increases OUTPUT_GROUP_MAX_ENTRIES to 100 which means that OutputGroups will now be up to 100 outputs large, up from previously 10. The main motivation for this change is that during the PR review club on #17824 [several participants signaled](https://bitcoincore.reviews/17824.html#l-339) that 100 might be a better value here.
I think fees should be manageable for users but more importantly, users should know what they can expect when using the wallet with this configuration, so I also tried to clarify the documentation on `-avoidpartialspends` and `avoid_reuse` a bit. If there are other additional ways how or docs where users can be made aware of the potential consequences of using these parameters, please let me know. Another small upside is that [there seem to be a high number of batching transactions with 100 and 200 inputs](https://miro.medium.com/max/3628/1*sZ5eaBSbsJsHx-J9iztq2g.png)([source](https://medium.com/@hasufly/an-analysis-of-batching-in-bitcoin-9bdf81a394e0)) giving these transactions a bit of a larger anonymity set, although that is probably a very weak argument.

This should not change coin selection behavior at all (except maybe remove weird edge cases that were caused by the loop). In order to keep behavior the same, `KnapsackSolver` will select outputs with a negative effective value (as it did before).

Instead of hijacking the effective_feerate to use the correct value
during coin selection, have OutputGroup be aware of whether we are
subtracting the fee from the outputs and provide the correct value to
use for selection.
To do this, OutputGroup now takes CoinSelectionParams and has a new
function GetSelectionAmount().
This was originally modified to use SelectCoinsMinConf in order to test
both BnB and Knapsack at the same time. But since SelectCoins does both
now, this is no longer necessary and we can revert back to actually
testing SelectCoins.
Remove the CreateTransaction while loop. Removes variables that were
only needed because of that loop. Also renames a few variables and
moves their declarations to where they are used.
Some subtractFeeFromOutputs handling is moved to after coin selection
in order to reduce their amounts once the fee is known.
If subtracting the fee reduces the change to dust, we will also now
remove the change output
Although the CreateTransaction loop currently remains, it should be
largely unused. KnapsackSolver will now account for transaction fees
when doing its selection.
In the previous commit, SelectCoinsMinConf was refactored to have some
calculations become shared for KnapsackSolver and SelectCoinsBnB. In
this commit, KnapsackSolver will now use the not_input_fees and
effective_feerate so that it include the fee for non-input things
(excluding a change output) so that the algorithm will select enough to
cover those fees. This is necessary for selecting on effective values.
Additionally, the OutputGroups
created for KnapsackSolver will actually have their effective values
calculated and set, and KnapsackSolver will do its selection on those
effective values.
Lastly, SelectCoins is modified to use the same value for preselected
inputs for BnB and KnapsackSolver. While it will still use the real
value when subtracting the fee from outputs, this behavior will be
the same regardless of the algo used for selecting additional inputs.
The fees for transaction overhead and recipient outputs are now included
in nTargetValue instead of being a separate parameter. For the coin
selection algorithms, it doesn't matter that these are separate as in
either case, the algorithm needs to select enough to cover these fees.
Note that setting nValueToSelect is changed as it now includes
not_input_fees. Without the change to how nValueToSelect is increased
for KnapsackSolver, this would result in overpaying fees. The change to
increase by the difference between nFeeRet and not_input_fees allows
this to have the same behavior as previously.
Additionally, because we assume that KnapsackSolver will always find a
solution that requires change (we assume that BnB always finds a
non-change solution), we also include the fee for the change output in
KnapsackSolver's target. As part of this, we also use the changeless
nFeeRet when iterating for KnapsackSolver. This is because we include
the change fee when doing KnapsackSolver, so nFeeRet on further
iterations won't include the change fee.
Simplifies CreateTransactionInternal without changing behavior. Removes
the pick_new_inputs variable by moving the subtract fee from amount
implementation to later in the loop to where it is possible to calculate
the fee for the transaction. This allows the fee to be subtracted from
the outputs within a single iteration, instead of calculating the fee in
the first iteration, and subtracting the fee in the second.
This also removes another scenario where a second iteration of the loop
finds a smaller input set (and thus smaller fees than the first
iteration) with no change and so a third iteration of the loop is done in order to make
a change output that contains the excess fees.
To handle these cases, we always create a change output which contains
the difference between selected input values and the recipient amounts.
Once the transaction fee is calculated, the change output is reduced (in
the normal case) or the recipient amounts are reduced (in the subtract
fee from amount case). All of this is done in a single iteration of the
loop.

the next commit.

To prepare for KnapsackSolver to use effective values, these

A future displayaddress RPC call without wallet context could take a descriptor argument.
This commit fixes a rpc_help.py failure when configured with --disable-wallet.

Using `IsDeprecatedRPCEnabled` in core_write.cpp caused some circular dependencies involving core_io
Circular dependencies were caused by rpc/util unnecessarily importing node/coinstats and node/transaction. Really what rpc/util needs are some fundamental type/helper-function definitions. So this was cleaned up to make more sense.
This fixes#20102.

During coin selection, there are various places where we need to have a feerate. We need the feerate for the transaction itself, the discard fee rate, and long term feerate. Fetching these each time we need them can lead to a race condition where two feerates that should be the same are actually different. One particular instance where this can happen is during the loop in `CreateTransactionInternal`. After inputs are chosen, the expected transaction fee is calculated using a newly fetched feerate. If `pick_new_inputs == false`, the loop will go again with the assumption that the fee for the transaction remains the same. However because the feerate is fetched again, it is possible that it actually isn't and this causes coin selection to fail.
Instead of fetching the feerate each time it is needed, we fetch them all at once at the top of `CreateTransactionInternal`, store them in `CoinSelectionParams`, and use them where needed.
While some of these fee rates probably don't need this caching, I've done it for consistency and the guarantee that they remain the same.

The [`CRPCTable::dumpArgMap`](16b784d953/src/rpc/server.cpp (L492)) method currently works by casting RPC `unique_id` integer field to a function pointer, and then calling it. The `unique_id` field wasn't supposed to be used this way (it's meant to be used to detect RPC aliases) and as a result, this code segfaults in the `rpc_help.py` test in multiprocess PR #10102 because wallet RPC functions aren't directly accessible from the node process.
Fix this by adding a new `GET_ARGS` RPC request mode to retrieve argument information similar to the way the `GET_HELP` mode retrieves help information.

Currently the `Transaction too large` is calculated on the transaction that is returned from `CreateTransaction`. This does not make sense for when `CreateTransaction` is being used for `fundrawtransaction` as no signing occurs so the final returned transaction is missing signatures. Thus users may successfully fund a transaction but fail to broadcast it after it has been fully signed.
So instead we should figure out whether the transaction we are funding will be too large after it is signed. We can do this by having `CalculateMaximumSignedTxSize` also return the transaction weight and then comparing that weight against the maximum weight.

This simplifies code and adds a less cumbersome interface for accessing
address used information than CWallet AddDestData / EraseDestData /
GetDestData methods.
There is no change in behavior. Lower-level walletdb DestData methods
are also still available and not affected by this change. If there is
interest in consolidating destdata logic more and making it internal to
walletdb, #18608 could be considered as a followup.
Stop giving GUI access to destdata rows in database. Replace with narrow
API just for saving and reading receive request information.
This simplifies code and should prevent the GUI from interfering with
other destdata like address-used status.
Note: No user-visible behavior is changing in this commit. New
CWallet::SetAddressReceiveRequest() implementation avoids a bug in
CWallet::AddDestData() where a modification would leave the previous
value in memory while writing the new value to disk. But it doesn't
matter because the GUI doesn't currently expose the ability to modify
receive requests, only to add and erase them.

Adds `parent_desc` field to the `getaddressinfo` RPC to export a public descriptor. Using the given address, `getaddressinfo` will look up which `DescriptorScriptPubKeyMan` can be used to produce that address. It will then return the descriptor for that `DescriptorScriptPubKeyMan` in the `parent_desc` field. The descriptor will be in a normalized form where the xpub at the last hardened step is derived so that the descriptor can be imported to other wallets. Tests are added to check that the correct descriptor is being returned for the wallet's addresses and that these descriptors can be imported and used in other wallets.
As part of this PR, a `ToNormalizedString` function is added to the descriptor classes. This really only has an effect on `BIP32PubkeyProvider`s that have hardened derivation steps. Tests are added to check that normalized descriptors are returned.

Even after #17458, we still deal with setting fees of an `OutputGroup` and filtering the `OutputGroup` outside of the struct. We currently make all of the `OutputGroup`s in `SelectCoins` and then copy and modify them within each `SelectCoinsMinConf` scenario. This PR changes this to constructing the `OutputGroup`s within the `SelectCoinsMinConf` so that the scenario can be taken into account during the group construction. Furthermore, setting of fees and filtering for effective value is moved into `OutputGroup::Insert` itself so that we don't add undesirable outputs to an `OutputGroup` rather than deleting them afterwards.
To facilitate fee calculation and effective value filtering during `OutputGroup::Insert`, `OutputGroup` now takes the feerates in its constructor and computes the fees and effective value for each output during `Insert`.
While removing `OutputGroup`s in accordance with the `CoinEligibilityFilter` still requires creating the `OutputGroup`s first, we can do that within the function that makes them - `GroupOutput`s.

There are existing `SaltedOutPointHasher` and `SaltedTxidHasher` classes used for `std::unordered_map` and `std::unordered_set` that could be useful in other places in the codebase. So we these to their own `saltedhash.{cpp/h}` file. An existing `KeyIDHasher` is moved there too. Additionally, `ScriptIDHasher`, `SaltedPubkeyHasher`, and `SaltedScriptHasher` are added so that they can be used in future work.
`KeyIDHasher` and `ScriptIDHasher` are not salted so that equality comparisons of maps and sets keyed by `CKeyID` and `CScriptID` will actually work.

Adds two commands to the `bitcoin-wallet` tool: `dump` and `createfromdump`. These commands will be useful for a wallet storage migration in the future. It is also generally useful to have a storage agnostic dump like this. These commands are similar to BDB's `db_dump` and `db_load` tools. This can also be useful for manual construction of a wallet file for tests.
`dump` outputs every key-value pair from the wallet as comma separated hex. Each key-value pair is on its own line with the key and value in hex separated by a comma. This is output to the file specified by the new `-dumpfile` option.
`createfromdump` takes a file produced by `dump` and creates a new wallet file with exactly the records specified in that file.
A new option `-dumpfile` is added to the wallet tool. When used with `dump`, the records will be written to the specified file. When used with `createfromdump`, the file is read and the key-value pairs constructed from it. `createfromdump` requires `-dumpfile`.
A simple round-trip test is added to the `tool_wallet.py`.

- It makes wallet directory lists always include all wallets so wallets don't appear missing depending on the build.
- It now triggers specific "Build does not support SQLite database format" and "Build does not support Berkeley DB database format" errors if a wallet can't be loaded instead of the more ambiguous and scary "Data is not in recognized format" error.
Both changes are implemented in the last commit. The previous commits are just refactoring cleanups that make the last commit possible and consolidate and reduce code.

Rewrite OutputGroups so that the logic is easier to follow and
understand.
There is a slight behavior change as OutputGroups will be grouped by
scriptPubKey rather than CTxDestination as before. This should have no
effect on users as all addresses are a CTxDestination. However by using
scriptPubKeys, we can correctly group outputs which fall into the
NoDestination case. But we also shouldn't have any NoDestination
outputs.

remove duplicative functions, and make BDB and SQLite implementations more

lookup. Motivation is to be able to simplify the GetWalletEnv implementation in
an upcoming commit.
This commit does not change to any code and behavior. It it is easily reviewed
with the --color-moved=dimmed_zebra git diff option.
Motivation for this change is to:
- Consolidate redundant functions
IsBDBFile /ExistsBerkeleyDatabase / SplitWalletPath, and
IsSQLiteFile / ExistsSQLiteDatabase in the next commits
- Detect SQLite wallets consistently regardless whether bitcoin is built with

was fully signed. However if we are funding a transaction, it is
possible that the tx weight will be too large for a standard tx. In that
case, we should also fail. So we use the tx weight returned by

In https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/pull/2950 a hash of the pubkey and private was added to speed up key import, this was made backwards compatible by reading the hash in a try block with an ellipses catch all in case the hash was not present.
CDataStream::read() specifically throws std::ios_base::failure, backwards compatibility expects only that error to be thrown, if something else gets thrown we should not be catching it. The change in this commit is to catch that exception only. If any other exception is thrown other than std::ios_base::failure it will be caught by the wider try block and an error written to the log and/or console.

This PR cleans up the wallet upgrade mechanism a bit, fixes some probably bugs, and adds more test cases.
The `nWalletMaxVersion` member variable has been removed as it made `CanSupportFeature` unintuitive and was causing a couple of bugs. The reason this was introduced originally was to allow a wallet upgrade to only occur when the new feature is first used. While this makes sense for the old `-upgradewallet` option, for an RPC, this does not quite make sense. It's more intuitive for an upgrade to occur if possible if the `upgradewallet` RPC is used as that's an explicit request to upgrade a particular wallet to a newer version. `nWalletMaxVersion` was only relevant for upgrades to `FEATURE_WALLETCRYPT` and `FEATURE_COMPRPUBKEY` both of which are incredibly old features. So for such wallets, the behavior of `upgradewallet` will be that the feature is enabled immediately without the wallet needing to be encrypted at that time (note that `FEATURE_WALLETCRYPT` indicates support for encryption, not that the wallet is encrypted) or for a new key to be generated.
`CanSupportFeature` would previously indicate whether we could upgrade to `nWalletMaxVersion` not just whether the current wallet version supported a feature. While this property was being used to determine whether we should upgrade to HD and HD chain split, it was also causing a few bugs. Determining whether we should upgrade to HD or HD chain split is resolved by passing into `ScriptPubKeyMan::Upgrade` the version we are upgrading to and checking against that. By removing `nWalletMaxVersion` we also fix a bug where you could upgrade to HD chain split without the pre-split keypool.
`nWalletMaxVersion` was also the version that was being reported by `getwalletinfo` which meant that the version reported was not always consistent across restarts as it depended on whether `upgradewallet` was used. Additionally to make the wallet versions consistent with actually supported versions, instead of just setting the wallet version to whatever is given to `upgradewallet`, we normalize the version number to the closest supported version number. For example, if given 150000, we would store and report 139900.
Another bug where CHDChain was not being upgraded to the version supporting HD chain split is also fixed by this PR.
Lastly several more tests have been added. Some refactoring to the test was made to make these tests easier. These tests check specific upgrading scenarios, such as from non-HD (version 60000) to HD to pre-split keypool. Although not specifically related to `upgradewallet`, `UpgradeKeyMetadata` is now being tested too.
Part of the new tests is checking that the wallet files are identical before and after failed upgrades. To facilitate this, a utility function `sha256sum_file` has been added. Another part of the tests is to examine the wallet file itself to ensure that the records in the wallet.dat file have been correctly modified. So a new `bdb.py` module has been added to deserialize the BDB db of the wallet.dat file. This format isn't explicitly documented anywhere, but the code and comments in BDB's source code in file `dbinc/db_page.h` describe it. This module just dumps all of the fields into a dict.

5e146022da wallet: fix scanning progress calculation for single block range (Sebastian Falbesoner)

If the blockchain is rescanned for a single block (i.e. start and stop hashes are equal, and with that also the estimated start/stop verification progress values) the progress calculation could lead to a NaN value caused by a division by zero (0.0/0.0), resulting in an invalid JSON result for the `getwalletinfo` RPC. This PR fixes this behaviour by setting the progress to zero in that special case. Fixes#20297.
The behaviour can easily be reproduced by continuously running single block rescans in an endless loop, e.g. via

and at the same time perform some `getwalletinfo` RPCs.
On the master branch, this leads to frequent invalid responses (tested on mainchain):

Create a fee_rate (sat/vB) RPC param and replace overloading the conf_target and
estimate_mode params in the following 6 RPCs with it:
- sendtoaddress
- sendmany
- send
- fundrawtransaction
- walletcreatefundedpsbt
- bumpfee
In RPC bumpfee, the previously existing fee_rate remains but the unit is changed
from BTC/kvB to sat/vB. This is a breaking change, but it should not be an
overly risky one, as the units change by a factor of 1e5 and any fees specified
in BTC/kvB after this commit will either be too low and raise an error or be 1
sat/vB and can be RBFed.
Update the test coverage for each RPC.

With the new `settings.json` r/w configuration file, users unloading and loading a wallet through the GUI or via the RPC calls might end up with a duplicate `-wallet` entry (one that still remains in bitcoin.conf or CLI) plus the new duplication in `settings.json` due to the unload/load.
Steps to reproduce
* create wallet (if via RPC set `load_on_startup` or unloadwallet/loadwallet then set `load_on_startup`).
* stop bitcoin
* start bitcoind again with same `--wallet=mywallet`
I guess it is acceptable to skip duplicates.

MakeWalletDatabase no longer has a default DatabaseFormat. Instead
callers, like CWallet::Create, need to specify the database type to
create if the file does not exist. If it exists and NONE is given, then
CreateWalletDatabase will try to autodetect the type.
Rewrite uses the VACUUM command which does exactly what we want. A
specific advertised use case is to compact a database and ensure that
any deleted data is actually deleted.
sqlite3 recommends that sqlite3_initialize be called when the
application starts, and sqlite3_shutdown when it stops. Since we don't
always use sqlite3, we initialize it when a SQLiteDatabse is constructed
(calling sqlite3_initialize after initialized is a no-op). We call
sqlite3_shutdown when we see that there are no databases opened. The
number of open databases is tracked by an atomic g_dbs_open.
We never need to open database in read-only mode as it's controlled
separately for every batch.
Also we can safely create database if it doesn't exist already
because require_existing option is verified in MakeDatabase
before creating a new WalletDatabase instance.
This adds a `TxoutType::WITNESS_V1_TAPROOT` for P2TR outputs, and permits spending
them in standardness rules. No corresponding `CTxDestination` is added for it,
as that isn't needed until we want wallet integration. The taproot validation flags
are also enabled for mempool transactions, and standardness rules are added
(stack item size limit, no annexes).
Changes the no wallet is loaded rpc error message to be clearer that no
wallet is loaded and how the user can load or create a wallet. Also
changes the error code from METHOD_NOT_FOUND to RPC_WALLET_NOT_FOUND as
that makes more sense.

Whenever a wallet funds a transaction, the fee reason is reported to the user only if the verbose is set to true. I added an extra parameter to `CreateTransaction` function in wallet.cpp. Then I implemented the fee reason return logic in `SendMoney` in rpcwallet.cpp, followed by verbose parameter in `sendtoaddress` and `sendmany` functions. I also added a fee reason test case in walletbasic.py.

This commit fixes#19912 by removing a check that always returned true. That check was causing a -Wlogical-op warning because it treated a constant int as though it were a boolean.
OutputGroup will handle the fee and effective value computations
inside of Insert. It now needs to take the effective feerate and long
term feerates as arguments to its constructor.

### Motivation
RPCArg names in the rpc help are currently only used for documentation. However, in the future they could be used to teach the server the named arguments. Named arguments are currently registered by the `CRPCCommand`s and duplicate the RPCArg names from the documentation. This redundancy is fragile, and has lead to errors in the past (despite having linters to catch those kind of errors). See section "bugs found" for a list of bugs that have been found as a result of the changes here.
### Changes
The changes here add an assert in the `CRPCCommand` constructor that the RPCArg names are identical to the ones in the `CRPCCommand`.
### Future work

Using the zmq notifications to avoid excessive mempool polling can be difficult
given the current notifications available. It announces all transactions
being added to mempool or included in blocks, but announces no evictions
and gives no indication if the transaction is in the mempool or a block.
Block notifications for zmq are also substandard, in that it only announces
block tips, while all block transactions are still announced.
This commit adds a unified stream which can be used to closely track mempool:
1) getrawmempool to fill out mempool knowledge
2) if txhash is announced, add or remove from set
based on add/remove flag
3) if blockhash is announced, get block txn list,
remove from those transactions local view of mempool
4) if we drop a sequence number, go to (1)
The mempool sequence number starts at the value 1, and
increments each time a transaction enters the mempool,
or is evicted from the mempool for any reason, including
block inclusion. The mempool sequence number is published
via ZMQ for any transaction-related notification.
These features allow for ZMQ/RPC consumer to track mempool
state in a more exacting way, without unnecesarily polling
getrawmempool. See interface_zmq.py::test_mempool_sync for
example usage.

`walletcreatefundedpsbt` has some interesting features that `sendtoaddress` and `sendmany` don't have:
* manual coin selection
* outputting a PSBT (it was controversial to add this, see #18201)
* create a transaction without adding to wallet (which leads to broadcasting, unless `-walletbroadcast=0`)
At the same time `walletcreatefundedpsbt` can't broadcast a transaction, which is inconvenient for simple use cases.
This PR introduces a new `send` RPC method which creates a PSBT, signs it if possible and adds it to the wallet by default. If it can't sign all inputs, it outputs a PSBT. If `add_to_wallet` is set to `false` it will return the transaction in both PSBT and hex format.
Because it uses a PSBT internally, it will much easier to add hardware wallet support to this method (see #16546).
For `bitcoin-cli` users, it tries to keep the simplest use case easy to use:

This paves the way for deprecating `sendtoaddress` and `sendmany` though there's no rush. The only missing feature compared to these older methods is adding labels to a destination address.

Although loadwallet() in rpcwallet.cpp assumes LoadWallet() always
assign some value to the 'status', but LoadWallet() does not do so
in some situation.
This fixes above and prevends loadwallet() returns ambiguous error code.
No longer create a default wallet. The default wallet will still be
loaded if it exists and not other wallets were specified (anywhere,
including settings.json, bitcoin.conf, and command line).
Tests are updated to be started with -wallet= if they need the default
wallet.
Added test to wallet_startup.py testing that no default wallet is
created and that it is loaded if it exists and no other wallets were
specified.

Checks are now consolidated in MakeBerkeleyDatabase function instead of
happening in higher level code.
This commit does not change behavior except for error messages which now
include more complete information.
New function is not currently called but will be called in upcoming commits. It
moves database path checking, and existence checking, and already-loaded
checking, and verification into a single function so this logic does not need
to be repeated all over higher level wallet code, and so higher level code does
not need to change when SQLite support is added in
https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/pull/19077. This also lets higher level
wallet code make fewer assumptions about the contents of wallet directories.
This commit just adds the new function and does not change behavior in any way.
This removes a source of complexity and indirection that makes it harder to
understand path checking code. Path checks will be simplified in upcoming
commits.
There is no change in behavior in this commit other than a slightly more
descriptive error message in `loadwallet` if the default "" wallet can't be
found. (The error message is improved more in upcoming commit "wallet: Remove
path checking code from loadwallet RPC".)

### Motivation
RPCArg names in the rpc help are currently only used for documentation. However, in the future they could be used to teach the server the named arguments. Named arguments are currently registered by the `CRPCCommand`s and duplicate the RPCArg names from the documentation. This redundancy is fragile, and has lead to errors in the past (despite having linters to catch those kind of errors). See section "bugs found" for a list of bugs that have been found as a result of the changes here.
### Changes
The changes here add an assert in the `CRPCCommand` constructor that the RPCArg names are identical to the ones in the `CRPCCommand`.

When using `fundrawtransaction` and `walletcreatefundedpsbt` with `lockUnspents`, it would only lock automatically selected coins, not manually selected coins. That doesn't make much sense to me if the goal is to prevent accidentally double-spending yourself before you broadcast a transaction.
Note that when creating a transaction, manually selected coins are automatic "unlocked" (or more accurately: the lock is ignored). Earlier versions of this PR introduced an error when a locked coin is manually selected, but this idea was abandoned after some discussion. An application that uses this RPC should either rely on automatic coin selection (with `lockUnspents`) or handle lock concurrency itself with manual coin selection. In particular it needs to make sure to avoid/pause calls with automatic coin selection between calling `lockunspent` and the subsequent spending RPC.

The `-avoidpartialspends` feature is normally disabled, as it may affect the optimal fee for payments. This PR introduces a new parameter `-maxapsfee` (max avoid partial spends fee) which acts on the following values:
* -1: disable partial spend avoidance completely (do not even try it)
* 0: only do partial spend avoidance if fees are the same or better as the regular coin selection
* 1..∞: use APS variant if the absolute fee difference is less than or equal to the max APS fee
For values other than -1, the code will now try partial spend avoidance once, and if that gives a value within the accepted range, it will use that.
Example: -maxapsfee=0.00001000 means the wallet will do regular coin select, APS coin select, and then pick AKS iff the absolute fee difference is <= 1000 satoshi.
Edit: updated this to reflect the fact we are now using a max fee.

While reviewing #17204 I noticed that the errors in `input_errors` from `::SignTransaction` where being overridden by `CWallet::SignTransaction`. For example, a Script related error led to incomplete signature data which led to `CWallet::SignTransaction` reporting that keys were missing, which was a less precise error than the original one.
Additionally, the error `"Input not found or already spent"` is [duplicated in `sign.cpp`](c7b4968552/src/script/sign.cpp (L481)), so the error here is redundant at the moment. So technically the whole error block could be removed, I think. However, this code is affected by the ongoing work on the wallet so there might be a reason why these errors are here. But even if there is a reason to keep them, I don't think existing, potentially more precise errors should be overridden here unless we want to hide them from the users. I am looking for feedback if this is a work in progress state where these errors could be more useful in the future or if they can be removed.
On testing: even though [the errors in `CWallet` are covered](https://marcofalke.github.io/btc_cov/total.coverage/src/wallet/wallet.cpp.gcov.html), all tests still pass after removing them. I am not sure if there is a desire to cover these specific error messages, tests in `test/functional/rpc_signrawtransaction.py` seem to aim for a more generic approach.

Currently, the `target_confirmations` parameter to `listsinceblock` is not checked for being too large. When `target_confirmations` is greater than one more than the current number of blocks, `listsinceblock` fails with error code -1. In comparison, when `target_confirmations` is less than 1, a -8 "Invalid parameter" error code is thrown.
This PR fixes the issue by returning a -8 "Invalid parameter" error if the `target_confirmations` value corresponds to a block with more confirmations than the genesis block. This happens if `target_confirmations` exceeds one more than the number of blocks.

which may happen on regtest.
Includes update to the functional test for listsinceblock to test for
this case.
Instead of having callers set the fees, effective values, and filtering
of outputs, do these within OutputGroups themselves as member functions.
m_fee and m_long_term_fee is added to OutputGroup to track the fees of
the OutputGroup.

In order to support alternative database systems, we need to have a generic `Batch` class. This PR adds a `DatabaseBatch` abstract class which is implemented by `BerkeleyBatch`. `DatabaseBatch` is now the class that is used by `WalletBatch` to interact with the database. To be able to get the correct type of `DatabaseBatch`, `BerkeleyDatabase` now has a `MakeBatch` function which returns a newly constructed `std::unique_ptr<DatabaseBatch>`. For `BerkeleyDatabase`, that will be `std::unique_ptr<BerkeleyBatch>`.
The `Read`, `Write`, `Erase`, and `Exists` template functions are moved from `BerkeleyBatch`.

When loading descriptor caches, we would accidentally reinitialize the descriptor cache when seeing that one already exists. This should have only been initializing the cache when one does not exist. However this code itself is unnecessary as the act of looking up the cache to add to it will initialize it if it didn't already exist.
This issue could be hit by trying to load a wallet that had imported a multisig descriptor. The wallet would fail to load.
A test has been added to wallet_importdescriptors.py to catch this case. Another test case has also been added to check that loading a wallet with only single key descriptors works.

This PR replaces those functions with `Add*` and `Load*` variants so that they follow the pattern used elsewhere in the wallet.
`AddHDChain`, `AddActiveScriptPubKeyMan`, and `AddWalletFlags` both set their respective variables in `CWallet` and writes them to disk. These functions are used by the actions which modify the wallet such as `sethdseed`, `importdescriptors`, and creating a new wallet.
`LoadHDChain`, `LoadActiveScriptPubKeyMan`, and `LoadWalletFlags` just set the `CWallet` variables. These functions are used by `LoadWallet` when loading the wallet from disk.

The `BerkeleyBatch` class has 4 static functions that operate on `BerkeleyDatabase` or `BerkeleyEnvironment`. It doesn't make sense for these to be standalone nor for them to be static functions. So instead, move them from `BerkeleyBatch` into `BerkeleyDatabase` and make them member functions instead of static.
`BerkeleyBatch::VerifyEnvironment` and `BerkeleyBatch::VerifyDatabaseFile` are combined into a single `BerkeleyDatabase::Verify` function that operates on that `BerkeleyDatabase` object.
`BerkeleyBatch::Rewrite` and `BerkeleyBatch::PeriodicFlush` both took a `BerkeleyDatabase` as an argument and did stuff on it. So we just make it a member function so it doesn't need to take a database as an argument.

* The rpc server shouldn't rely on node globals, but rather a context that is passed in to the RPC method.

Due to recent changes to hardware wallets, the full previous transaction will need to be provided for segwit inputs. Since some software may be checking for the existence of a `witness_utxo` to determine whether to produce a segwit signature, we keep that field to ease the transition.
Because all of the sanity checks implemented by the `IsSane` functions were related to having mixed segwit and non-segwit data in a PSBT, those functions are removed as those checks are no longer proper.
Some tests are updated/removed to accommodate this and a simple test added to check that both UTXOs are being added to segwit inputs.
As discussed in the wallet IRC meeting, our own signer will not require `non_witness_utxo` for segwit inputs.

Pull request description:
This reverts a hacky workaround from commit b83cc0f, which only happens to work due to compiler optimizations. Then, it actually fixes the linker error.
The underlying problem is that the wallet includes symbols from the server (ui_interface), which usually results in linker failures. Though, in this specific case the linker failures have not been observed (unless `-O0`) because our compilers were smart enough to strip unused symbols.
Fix the underlying problem by creating a new header-only with the needed symbol and move ui_interface to node to clarify that this is part of libbitcoin_server.

This adds static asserts that ensure that the default values given for
fee levels in the wallet (minimum fee and incremental feerate increase)
are at least as high as the corresponding levels configured in the
core node policy.
Instead of returning a Dbc (BDB cursor object) and having the caller
deal with the cursor, make BerkeleyBatch handle the cursor internally.
This prepares BerkeleyBatch to work with other database systems as Dbc
objects are BDB specific.

Add a "PSBT Operations" dialog, reached from the "Load PSBT..." menu item, giving options to sign or broadcast the loaded PSBT as appropriate, as well as copying the result to the clipboard or saving it to a file.
This is based on Sjors' #17509, and depends on that PR going in first. (It effectively replaces the small "load PSBT" dialog from that PR with a more feature-rich one.)
Some notes:
* The way I display status information is maybe unusual (a status bar, rather than messageboxes.) I think it's helpful to have the information in it be persistent rather than transitory. But if people dislike it, I would probably move the "current state of the transaction" info to the top line of the main label, and the "what action just happened, and did it succeed" info into a messagebox.
* I don't really know much about the translation/localization stuff. I put tr() in all the places it seemed like it ought to go. I did not attempt to translate the result of TransactionErrorString (which is shared by GUI and non-GUI code); I don't know if that's correct, but it matches the "error messages in logs should be googleable in English" heuristic. I don't know whether there are things I should be doing to reduce translator effort (like minimizing the total number of distinct message strings I use, or something.)
* I don't really know how (if?) automated testing is applied to GUI code. I can make a list of PSBTs exercising all the codepaths for manual testing, if that's the right approach. Input appreciated.

When the user doesn't specificy inputs, it makes sense to automatically select them. But when the user does specify inputs, `walletcreatefundedpsbt` now fails if the amount is insufficient, unless `addInputs` is set to `true`.
Similarly for `fundrawtransaction` if the original transaction already specified inputs, we only add more if `addInputs` is set to `true`.
This protects against fat finger mistakes in the amount or fee rate (see also #16257). The behavior is also more similar to GUI coin selection.
