when searching something on YT we are offered with results + some junk mixed in between.

the key point here is, that the thing we search for is not always in top results, so a fair amount of scrolling is needed to find it until non-related junk stuff appears filling the infinite scroll.

for some reason, invidious instances are lazy as fuck and offer only top of the top results filling maximum of 1 page and minimum of 0 results (often something in between). that is just not enough! as searched, video may be often behind the curtain on page 2!

this stinks like google searches... searching for specific XYexample shows there are "About 5 billion results (0.24 seconds)", but google offers you only one page with 7 links with a middle finger on the bottom

can we get a "NEXT >" button for slightly expanded search results to be shown always?

interestingly, this can be forced manually by adding &page=2 to the URL:

so there is no reason to downplay it

At this point I would recommend you to open an issue about this in upstream invidious. Since you are banned from upstream, maybe just create a new account. This seems to be a bug tho.
